Does weed make you lose weight? That's one of the most popular questions being asked by many people who are beginning to experiment with alternative medicine and their diets. The short answer to the question is: No, it does not. However, the long answer to the question may be more complicated than it appears at first glance. The fact is that weed is one of the most dangerous substances that people consume on a regular basis, yet few of us know its dangerous effects and the long-term effects it has on the body. Specifically, the study published by this University of Florida was looking into the effects of long-term cannabis use on vitamin D, calcium, magnesium, and protein. It was found that there was a significant reduction in these vitamins in the blood of those who smoke pot regularly. The reduction in the levels of these important vitamins may lead to vitamin D deficiency, which can ultimately lead to health problems, including fatty liver disease and osteoporosis. This study was published as a peer-reviewed scientific journal and the findings were reported in the scientific journal Scientific Review.

Another study published in the peer-reviewed Journal of Public Health found that teens who smoked pot had significantly smaller waistlines as well as poorer self-esteem than non-pot smokers. In addition, they had higher chances of experiencing anxiety, depression, and increased frequency of hospital visits for nervousness, depression, and panic attacks. Again, this study was published as a peer-reviewed scientific journal and the observations were reported in the same journal. Unfortunately, the study published in the Journal of Public Health did not directly focus on the question of does weed make you lose weight, but the overall conclusion of the study was rather alarming. The authors of the study warned that marijuana use is associated with an increased chance of heart attack and stroke, and other ailments such as cancer and schizophrenia.

Additionally, many of those who smoke cannabis and use other drugs to help them cope with their depression and anxiety also experience weight loss. This is because when they are depressed and anxious, it causes them to cut down on their calorie intake. Therefore, it is suggested that people who use cannabis, as opposed to non- cannabis consumers, may also be at risk for developing unhealthy patterns of body weight and shape.

Many individuals who smoke weed do so as a way to get high. This is not healthy behavior. Our bodies often adapt to what we put into them, and when you start putting large amounts of caffeine and sugar into your system, your body will react in a way that is designed to avoid starvation and excessive hunger. The end result is a slower metabolism and you may begin to lose weight at an alarming rate. It is for this reason that quitting smoking weed can increase the chance of losing weight.

If you have made the decision to quit cannabis, you should also consider cutting out all forms of caffeine from your diet. Caffeine can have the same effect as smoking weed, causing weight loss in many people.
